Wealthy Los Angeles teen Marina Lu was the unfortunate victim of a random crime, a carjacking that ended in murder. Or was she? Reporter Eve Diamond begins to suspect a more sinister motive behind the murder when she learns that Lu's diary was stolen from the car, while valuables were left behind. And when Eve discovers that Marina's father is the head of a powerful bank that is rumored to have some very unsavory business ties, she becomes convinced that Marina's murder is the tip of an iceberg of evil that lies beneath the surface of L.A.'s Asian community.
