An academic who has joined the war effort full force, Alfred Vicary is employed to mislead German intelligence about the true target of the Allies D-Day attack. He must convince a besotted American Naval officer that his girlfriend is really a German spy, in fact a very good one who seems to outwit Vicary at every turn.
