Eccentric old Harry Dickinson, walking in the woods, finds a clue to the murder of a local 15-year-old girl. The investigating detective, Ben Cooper, deep into the troubles of his personal life, gradually includes Dickinson in the list of suspects. As the case becomes more complicated, so do the interactions and crosscurrents in the lives of everyone involved.
