In 1889, Police Captain Tom Braddock and his family are vacationing in the Adirondack wilderness when they cross paths with a Mohawk named Jim Tupper. Tupper is on the lam after committing a murder in New York, and now he has killed a chambermaid at the hotel where the Braddocks are staying. Mike Braddock, Tom's son, who was romantically involved with the victim, is believed to be her murderer. To clear his son's name, Tom must track Tupper into the wilderness.
