A Cry from the Dark

Bettina Whitelaw, an aging and well-known London novelist brought up in Australia, has begun working on a memoir of her early life. One of her most vivid memories concerns a certain unpleasant event from her past. It slowly becomes clear that someone doesn't want her to include that memory in her book, and is willing to go to any length--including robbery, assault, and murder--to keep the past buried.
