Falling Off Air

A woman's seemingly coincidental witnessing of a death turns out to involve her more personally than is at first apparent in this debut thriller. Robin Ballantyne, a former TV journalist and single mother of young twins, has just put her children to bed when she sees a woman plunge from a window of a neighboring house. Although Robin is initially convinced that she has no link to the dead woman, others are less sure; the deceased is Paula Carmichael, a socially conscious politician who just happens to be the subject of a documentary hosted by the estranged father of Robin's children. Was Carmichael a suicide? Or was she murdered? A second suspicious death links Robin even closer to the mystery, and the evidence makes her look very guilty indeed.
