This paranormal thriller is part of a series starring psychic bookseller Mira Morales, her psychic teenage daughter Annie, and her boyfriend (now fiance) FBI agent Wayne Shep Sheppard. Mira, Annie, and Shep have left Florida to spend Christmas at a friend's isolated country home in Asheville, NC. But their vacation is brutally interrupted when Mira is kidnapped by Allie Curry, a mysterious woman who appears to have been stalking Mira for months. As Annie and Mira's grandmother Nadine search psychically for Mira, Shep uses more mundane abilities to probe the reasons behind the abduction, which seem rooted in a tragedy that occurred several years ago.
