Dutch Island, Maine, is quite literally haunted by the massacre of its inhabitants, an event that occurred over 300 years ago. A gang of thugs invades Dutch Island in the present day in search of their leader Moloch's abused wife, Marianne, who fled to the island after stealing her husband's money. Marianne will find protectors in both Melancholy Joe Dupree, the island's police officer--who, like her husband, has some strange link to the island's bloody past--and the angry ghosts of the slaughtered settlers who will not permit further violence on the island.
