In this rollicking, red-hot work of suspense, a young Seattle firefighter`s reckless sexual encounter leads to his complicity in theft and murder. Jason Gum rescues Iola Pederson from her wrecked house after a prize-winning pig falls out of an airplane and through her roof. They subsequently fall into an affair, and one late-running liaison results in Jason`s failing to respond to a fire alarm. Two fellow firefighters cover up his misdeed, but then blackmail him into covering up for them when they steal some bearer bonds from the home of a former thief.
